GABIN, A YOUTH IN THE BACKLAND (WT) tells the story of a young boy growing up in a rural environment in Northern France. His life seems to be preordained. Like his brothers, Gabin is supposed to learn a meat-processing trade and then take over his father's butcher shop. But Gabin imagines his future differently.
GABIN is a family saga, a story of emancipation and at the same time a portrait of a disadvantaged region. The shooting of this feature documentary spans a decade.
